Music video 'I Wish'
CD Cover
Draft One
As you can see by this, this is our first attempt of making our side cover. There is a lot of areas that we got feedback in. We got told what areas needed to be improved and also what we done well. For example one of them was to make sure that we used images that are out own. This is was because we didn't manage our time correctly allowing us to get it done to the best standard as we could for our first draft. Another key thing was that we had not completed all the images we needed to make the CD cover. We had ideas but we didn't have anything to show for it. We took on board all the information that was giving back and started to act upon it for our second draft.
Draft Two
Looking at our draft two you can see that we have all inserts need for the CD cover. We took on board all the information that was given to use to improve it. As you can see we have taken our own images ( flowers ect ). As you can tell , this isn't the completely finished version, this is because we have one more draft to go. The feedback that we get from this one will be key for us. When looking at the artist you can see that she is wearing clothing that is related to the concept we are trying to get across 1950's. When looking at our feedback we got told that we need to have more items or make the images/ CD cover more 1950's as at the moment it isn't looking as 1950's as it could.
Final CD Cover
This is our final product we have taken on board all the information that we was given from our teachers and peers. When looking at the CD inserts and covers you can see that they have got a vintage feel about them/ 1950's feel about them, we took on board the information that was given to us and came to a conclusion on how we will do this, we used Polaroid boxes for the images. We also got told that we should have colours in the background we re-looked at our idea and put in a back ground colour on each insert bar one. The colours we went with are pastel colours as it would relate back to the 1950's.
All the information that we are given as feedback in important for us as it allows us to develop our ideas and make them better.
Poster/ Advertisement
Draft 1
The feedback that we got from this poster was good and bad. Good point from the feedback was that they liked the image that we used as it is good quality. The bad points from this is that the image itself didn't relate to the concept that we are trying to get across, how does it relate to the 1950's? We also go told that the gold stars are a good idea but shouldn't be used, we should use quotes from newspapers. Also we got told how does the name 'JUKE BOX' relate to the artist?
Draft 2
Looking at this draft we took all the information that we got from draft one and acted upon i. We changed the image of the artist also you can see that there is an outline in the background of a jukebox this relates to the artist and the title of the album. What we got told we could improve upon is the image itself of the artist and also the back ground how does that relate to the artist.
We tried to use ideas from Lana Del Ray's poster
Final Draft
As you can see we have taken on bored all the information that we have been given and acted upon it. We changed the look of the artist by dressing her in clothes that we be associated to the 1950's. We also added a quote from a newspaper on the album. Also we have used an image of a reel of film that we created and used it to our advantaged to give the feel that she is in a photo-booth.
We took on bored the information that we have been given. The different type of feedback that we are given to us are key as it allows us to see how other people view our products. It also can give us ideas for what we can do better.
The Artist AVA
When creating the artist of Ava we wanted her to come across in a certain way. We came to a dissiosion that we wanted her to reflect the time period of the 1950's, how we would do this is by giving her clothing that would be relevant to the time period. For example the head scarf. We would also you props to give a 1950's feel, an example of this would be the phone that we use in the music video and the poster. When creating the artist we wanted her to look classy but also have a modern feeling about her. We also wanted her to be a strong female, this would also represent what was going on during this time period, women were feeling more empowered and could start expressing themselves. We managed to express this throughout all our piece of work by using a wide range of different methods to get it across for example we used costumes, location and props to help support the concept we are trying to get across.
