Filming Log
Within our music video there will be a wide range of different types of camera angles and shots that we will be suing for example; tracking, panning. low angle and high angle shots. As you can see by the video bellow, we tried to experiment with the different types of shots. Also this was practise for the opening shots that would be opening the music video. We had to use a location that was suitable for the time period in which we were trying to portray within our music video, this was the 1950's
Shot 1: This shot is meant to be of the person walking and we can only see their feet and bottom of their legs. What we found out when doing this shot was that it was unsteady when filming even though we where using a figrig. So what we need to us in future is something with wheels on, this will allow us to get a smooth shot. We could use a skateboard or even a chair with wheels on.
Shot 2: This shot is meant to be of the characters legs up to waist. What we found out when filming this is that it is hard to move the camera along and keeping it steady at the same time even though we were using the figrig. Like shot 2 we need to use something with wheels to push ourselves along, this will then allow us to get a steady shot.
Shot 3: Within this shot we are meant to see the back of the character. We can see from her waist upwards. When doing this shot it was once again hard as we needed something with wheels as I have already explained within shot 1 and two. With this shot I think its filmed better than the other ones as it seems like the camera is following her and the movement of the camera is the same of a person, this gives it a good effect when watching it.
Shots 4,5,6,7: Within this shot the character is walking towards the camera so we can see what she looks like: What we found out when filming this is that it is hard to walk backwards with the camera as it becomes even more unstable when walking. As I have already mentioned within all the other shots and the shots to come is that we need something with wheels this will then allow us to move more smoothly and give us a better quality finish on the filming.
Shot 8: Within this shot the character is meant to walk towards the camera then around it, so it looks like they are walking into the camera, then it pans following her. As you can see the camera is bouncing up and down this is due to the walking backwards and the pan to the left wasn't too good this can be improved by using something tha has wheels in which I have already said numoures times and also when panning if the person walked a little slower allowing the camera to keep up with them.
